“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.  – Colossians 4:6

Hey there and welcome to Lisa After 50!

I started this blog over six years ago and ended up placing it on the back burner when life got a little crazy. But now I’m back and oh how things have changed over the past six years!

A little about me

I’m a homemaker at heart -As far back as I can remember my dream and prayer was to be a Mama, have a large family,  be a housewife and homemaker. God answered that prayer and for twenty years I was exactly that and I loved every minute of it! And boy did those years go by fast! TOO fast…

I thrive on preparation! – I’ve always loved the start to finish process of creating; whether it’s creating a beautiful room or table scape, planning an elaborate event or family holiday, a Sunday dinner, an impromptu happy hour, or a sexy date night with my husband. I love it all, beginning to end!

I love encouraging people to see the positive side of life – I feel the world has enough negative in it, so why go looking for it,  even worse, why choose to dwell in it?  It’s just as easy to look for the positive and the good things in everyday life.

I  know that God is behind it all -It took me years to realize that my desire to encourage others—helping them see the positive side of life and turning everyday moments into something special wasn’t rooted in vanity or a need to show off. It was actually a gift from God. He blessed me with creativity, hospitality, and a genuine passion for uplifting those around me. That understanding is what drives me to share my heart and my ideas with anyone seeking inspiration.

My intention for this blog –I want to share my gift of hospitality.  I also want to share what God has taught me about the power of our thoughts, words and actions. I may even throw in my thoughts and opinions on politics, parenting, marriage, social media, current events or whatever comes to mind!  Why not? Everyone else gives their two cents, why can’t I?

But … By no means do I think my thoughts and opinions should be yours. I am simply sharing what God places on MY heart. If it resinates with you, wonderful! If not, that’s okay too.

Most importantly – I want to inspire you to trust God, live with expectancy of good, and to find the gift(s) He’s given you so you can share with others and leave your mark on this world. Your gifts were not given to you for you, they were given to you so share with others.

Y’all, tomorrow isn’t promised and life is too precious and way too short to not live the life God has planned for you,  starting today!
